our projects: what we do

Our projects

The Maheela Project is an impactful initiative by IISUMOD aimed at fostering sustainable development and promoting gender equality in rural Nepal.
This project, launched in collaboration with the Bright Mid-Western Agriculture and Forestry Campus in Surkhet, focuses on empowering women from the Jumla district by providing professional training in dairy production and management.
The initiative seeks to improve socio-economic conditions and address gender disparities in one of Nepal’s most underserved regions.

This project addresses critical challenges faced by rural women in Nepal, including poverty, lack of access to education, and economic exclusion. By focusing on training women, the project seeks to transform gender roles and enable women to play a more significant part in their communities’ development.

The training will be conducted in Italy’s Lazio region, where participants will learn about dairy farming techniques in conditions similar to those in their home region. Upon their return, the women will serve as agents of change, sharing their knowledge to strengthen the agricultural sector in their communities.

The Maheela Project also encourages cooperation between Italian and Nepali stakeholders, fostering a strong international network to support sustainable mountain development.

We invite donors, partners, and volunteers to join us in supporting the Maheela Project.
Your contribution can help transform lives, uplift communities, and promote sustainable agricultural practices in mountain regions worldwide.
